Every year, DonateLife agencies across the country hold Services of Remembrance to honour organ and tissue donors and their families. Since we couldn’t all be together this year, we’ve created a unique online tribute that honours organ and tissue donors and their families. A special part of our Services of Remembrance is sharing donor and recipient photos. We invite you to post a photo in the comments below and to share your loved ones’ story. To respect the privacy of everyone on this page, we ask that you please don’t post specific dates in your comment. We invite you to light a candle with us in reflection. You can do this at home, or you can light a ‘virtual candle’ at https://gratefulness.org/light-a-candle/step-1 . MYTH: You won’t want my organs because of my lifestyle choices
FACT: People who smoke, drink or have an unhealthy diet can still donate. You don’t have to be in perfect health to save lives, there’s every chance that some of your organs and tissues may be suitable for donation.

Exactly 18 years after he entered the world, Dalya Shaw hit ‘go live’ on a memorial website yesterday honouring the values and legacy of her son, Ben.
Ben became a donor after a tragic gym accident in 2017. He was only 15. While his life had been suddenly cut short, his family knew what Ben wanted and that decision went on to save precious lives.
