CGH staff mark Gippsland's Biggest PJ Day

If you noticed some of the staff at Central Gippsland Health wearing their pyjamas to work on 12 September, it wasn’t because they slept in.

Staff joined in the spirit of Gippsland’s Biggest PJ Day fundraiser which supports A Better Life for Foster Kids campaign. Those staff in clinical environments who couldn’t wear PJs opted for colourful scrubs

Gippsland's Biggest PJ Day is an annual, family-friendly event organised by A Better Life For Foster Kids, aimed at raising awareness and funds for children in out-of-home care. Participants, including workplaces, schools and community groups, are encouraged to wear their favorite pyjamas and slippers while engaging in fun activities to support the cause.

CGH Chief Executive Officer, Michele Gardner, said Gippsland’s Biggest PJ Day directly improved the lives of children entering foster and kinship care, and organisations played a uniquely powerful role in making that impact real.

“Seeing our staff in their PJs is a light‑hearted moment, but the purpose behind it is deeply meaningful,” Ms Gardner said. “Gippsland’s Biggest PJ Day reminds us that every child deserves safety, comfort, and a sense of belonging.”
