Thanks to the Cobains Country Women's Association (CWA) branch, Central Gippsland Health now has a new light for vein cannulations in its Medical Imaging Department.

Branch members presented the important piece of equipment to CGH Medical Imaging Practice Manager, Simon Waixel, this week.

The equipment gives a live green light signal confirming precise vein entry and positioning for cannulations, improving accuracy.

Branch President, Lois Neunamm, said the donation was the result of feedback from members.

“We know that it can be difficult finding the veins of older people for various medical purposes so we were happy to donate the new light,” she said.

The small but active group raised the funds from its cake stalls, especially a Mother’s Day stall, where they sold out of the delicious fare.
