The nursery at Central Gippsland Health now has a new infant warmer for babies requiring respiratory support after birth.
The Good Friday Appeal has donated $41,326 for the equipment which is used to provide a controlled environment for babies requiring resuscitation. It replaces an older model unit.
CGH Chief Executive, Mark Dykgraaf, thanked the appeal which funds beyond The Royal Children’s Hospital to rural and regional hospitals and health services across Victoria, delivering Paediatric care.
“The donation means we can replace an outdated infant warmer in theatre,” Mr Dykgraaf said. “The new one will have battery option that enables the baby to be transferred, if required, from theatre to the Special Care Nursery.”
This project is made possible thanks to the support of the Good Friday Appeal in partnership with The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH).
Underpinning this is the RCH’s vision of a world where all kids thrive and an unwavering belief that all children and young people should have the same opportunity to realise their potential.
